Al Khamis Mosque Restoration

Al Khamis Mosque Restoration is a culture and heritage film centred on one of Bahrain’s historic landmarks. The film observes the restoration process through the details of the site, its architecture and the careful work involved in preserving it.

BLVEN’s visual approach gives the subject room to breathe. Close observations of material and craft sit alongside wider architectural views, connecting the restoration work to the scale and history of the mosque. The result treats conservation as an active process carried out by people, rather than presenting heritage as something static.

The project reflects BLVEN’s experience creating films around culture, place and living heritage, with an emphasis on clear observation and respectful visual storytelling.
